Your Session

First off, I am so thankful you’ve chosen me to be your photographer! Lots of you I’m meeting for the first time, and even more of you are past clients booking your yearly family photos. THANK YOU!! You guys are the best. Family Photography is my passion, and I’m so happy to share it with you all.

Secondly, LET’S HAVE FUN! I love beautiful, candid, organic moments! The little details that make up your family. The way your daughter scrunches up her nose when she’s laughing.

The cowlick in your son’s hair.

The love in your husband’s eyes as he looks at the mother of his children. These are the things you’ll want to remember.

Thirdly, this photoshoot is about YOUR family. If you don’t want to dress fancy, DONT! If your kid loves playing in the mud, LETS DO IT! I’m honestly up for anything. We can do indoor, outdoor, urban, rural, fancy, casual. The possibilities are endless! And if you don’t know what you want, lets chat. We’ll come up with something that suits you and your family. Also, if you’re struggling with wardrobe choices, feel free to check out my Pinterest board:

And lastly, to all you stressed-out-because-its-family-photo-day mamas. You know who you are. How about this year, instead of stressing, lets just all chill. I have zero judgment towards you or your parenting. I’ve been screamed at, barfed on, and had rocks thrown at me… I’ve seen it all, lady.

Thank you for booking, and looking forward to working with you!

I get it, Boudoir Sessions are scary! You’re putting yourself out there, flaws and all. But I want to assure you, even though they’re scary at first, they are CRAZY FUN! How often do you get to be pampered for 2 hours, look like a total babe and have the photos to prove it?! They’re an awesome confidence boost, a fun time, and make a great gift for hubby!

When you arrive at your Boudoir Session you will start out with 2 hours of professional hair, makeup and lashes. You’re going to be amazed at your new look!

Then spend the next 1.5 hours with me! Don’t worry if you don’t know how to pose. That’s what I’m here for and I promise you’ll be a pro by the end!

A couple things about your session:

  1. Make sure to wear loose fitting clothing to your session. No socks, jeans etc. Anything that will leave an imprint in your skin.
  2. Bring as many outfits as you’d like if you’re not sure what to wear. I can help you narrow it down to 3.
  3. Stockings, robes, high heels, comfy sweaters, hubby’s dress shirts and ties are all fun items to bring along.
  4. Don’t starve yourself the week before your shoot!! You are beautiful and so are your curves!
  5. None of your photos will be posted on social media without your consent. We respect your privacy 100%.

And there you have it! If you have any questions feel free to email, call or text.

Everybody thinks their newborn is a great sleeper… until they get their newborn photos.

“He normally isn’t so fussy.”

“She usually sleeps through anything!”

“I typically don’t feed him 25 times in one hour…”

I hear it all the time. And TRUST me, it’s totally normal! Your baby is used to snuggling with you, nursing, and getting his bum changed. That’s about the extent of his routine. Until I come along with my wraps and headbands and weird baskets…

What I want all of my lovely clients to know is:

  1. ITS OK! I have two babies of my own. I’m used to crying, pooping, spit-up, fussing, nursing, etc. Don’t stress if you need to nurse 50 times while I’m there, or if your little one poops all over my sheep skin. I’ve been there, done that, and lived to tell about it.
  2. Relax. Eat breakfast. Don’t worry too much about hair and makeup and a clean house. You want your photos to show the love and connection you have with your new little one. Not how perfect your house or eyeliner was that day. You’re a new mom! Not a model. So don’t stress. Your baby can tell when you’re stressed and will fuss extra for you. Believe me. It’s science.
  3. Newborn photos are best in the morning, in natural light. If you don’t feel your house has enough lighting to get really great photos, let me know! You’re always welcome at my place
  4. It’s typically best to get newborn photos done anywhere from day 5-10. This is the sweet spot. They’re still dopey and mouldable, but less wrinkly and cone-headed (amiright?) I know you’re not going to feel like getting photos 5 days post-hospital but it’s really worth it. You’ll thank me. Maybe. Someday.
  5. This is a LIFESTYLE newborn session. I don’t do the complicated, squishy, newborn poses. I want to capture the smallness and sweetness of your baby. The love and connection between you and them. If you have specific requests please contact me and I’ll let you know whether or not I feel comfortable fulfilling them.

And there you have it! It may seem daunting, but in the end you’ll have wonderful memories of your sweet new babe!
